Melissa Cunningham/Tesla

Tesla Model 3 Tesla is an electricity and car company named after Nikola Tesla, who made electric cars in the 1800's and 1900's. The company was founded in 2003 by Elon Musk, Martin Eberhard, EB Straubel, Marc Tarpenning, and Ian Wright. Tesla has made another electric car- and it's the safest car ever made. The Tesla Model 3, an electric car, make by Tesla, can be bought now, at least for $46,000. They're made in the Tesla factory in Fremont California and what persuades their building is cleaner air, less pollution, showing people that electric cars can be fast, clean, and still look cool. They wanted to make safe cars- for people and the environment.   The people who made this wanted to make safe cars- for people and the environment. From the Tesla website they say: “To achieve our goal of having the safest factories in the world, Tesla is taking a proactive approach to safety, requiring production employees to participate in a multi-day training program b

Volumetric Display By Riley Holt

Volumetric display or more specifically photophoretic optical-trap volumetric display is the brain child of Daniel Smalley a professor at BYU.  The most recent version of this technology is the closest to their goal that anyone has gotten but many improvements need to be made to the technology before it is ready and it is unclear how long that will take. Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah and their team of physicist led by Daniel Smalley have developed a new technology. The version of a 3D projection traps a cellulose particle in a laser and then uses that particle to scatter light shined on it to create an image. The need for this innovation, while having practical uses, comes from desire. The desire to make movie-like “holograms” such as those from Star Wars and Iron Man. A Star Wars like projection is the goal of Daniel Smalley and the lab at BYU has become its birthplace. Smalley has been motivated by sci-fi movies from Star Wars to Iron Man .  He is creating it

Zero1 Football Helmet Jake Bond

Every year, there is an estimated 1.6-3.8 million sports-related concussions. Although the NFL is the most widely known for concussions, these concussions also come from the lower levels of football, including college and high school. To make the game safer for players and to prevent further concussions from occurring, there is a pressing need for a new football helmet that is safer, stronger and more reliable. These needs and the increasing societal fear regarding football related injuries, prompted the invention of the Zero1 football helmet. The Zero1 helmet is a new take on the old football helmet that is "safer, sleeker and more functional." This new helmet differs from other models because it has the technology to absorb the hit, thereby decreasing head injuries.      Unlike other football helmets, it can "squish down" to protect the players head on impact. Created by VICIS and Artefact, this revolutionary helmet is slated to be used by 60 NFL players and

SpaceX's Falcon 9 and Falcon Heavy The First Self-Landing Rockets                                                                            By: James O'Connell                          Falcon 9 before launch                                      Falcon Heavy before launch      Have you ever wondered about what happens to the rockets and the different rocket stages when they fall down to the earth? They used to burn up or crash into the earth what a waste, but not anymore thanks to SpaceX's new breakthrough. That breakthrough is self-landing rockets invented by Elon Musk the founder of SpaceX, Tesla(an advanced car company), PayPal(one of the most successful online checking software known to this day), and Zip2(one of the first internet maps). These rockets are already being used at one of three of SpaceX's launch sites Cape Canaveral, FL; Kennedy Space Center, FL; and Vandenberg Air Force Base, CA. These rockets are currently being produced in McGregor, Texas

Flexible Football Helmet Joseph Murphy

Flexible Foot Ball Helmet This football helmet hits like a car bumper, this helmet is better then a normal football helmet and supports your head and can prevent head injuries. CEO Dave Marver made this product in 2015 and it is in stores such as dicks sporting goods but it is a lot more money then usual helmets. this is a football helmet that is made out of flexible foam in the inside and a flexible plastic on the outside. It is used in the NFL to protect football players and help them to not get concussions. There is a need for this innovation because football players have concussions and deal with it everyday. It affects the way they play and how they think.  A brain concussion is a traumatic brain injury that is caused by a blow to the head, a fall or shaking of the brain, so this makes it so they can't play, and sometimes this has life long symptoms.      This helmet is important because kids and teens get head injuries and it affects the way they grow, It affects the b
